Čertovica is a saddleback situated in the middle of the main ridge of the Low Tatras mountains. It divides the Tatras into two parts: the Ďumbier Tatras and the Kráľova hoľa Tatras. It is a very frequently used road notch on the way from the town of Brezno to the town of Kráľova Lehota (Liptov region). Right in the saddle, there is a parking place and a chalet. The saddle is a suitable starting point for the hikes to the Low Tatras.
The grassy northern slopes of the Bocianska Valley and the surrounding slopes of the Čertova Svadba (Devil's Marriage), Lajštroch and Rovienok have all excellent skiing facilities with ski-lifts. Close to the saddleback you would find the villages of Vyšná Boca and Nižná Boca.
